Acceptance of these terms

Welcome to DiveScores. These Terms of Use are the agreement between you and DiveScores. When you sign in to DiveScores, or use it in any other way, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use DiveScores.

DiveScores is a platform for running diving meets, recording scores and sharing results. It is built for coaches, athletes, meet directors, officials, parents and fans of diving.

Who can use DiveScores

Age

You must be at least 13 years old to create a DiveScores account. When you create one, you confirm that you meet that age. We rely on your sign-in provider, Google or Apple, to check your age.

Parents and guardians

If you are between 13 and 18 years old, read these terms with a parent or guardian. By using DiveScores, you confirm that you have their permission.

Your account

You sign in to DiveScores with your Google or Apple account. Keep that account secure, and keep it to yourself. Write to support@divescores.com at once if somebody else reaches your DiveScores account.

Your content and conduct: zero tolerance

You are responsible for everything you put on DiveScores. That includes your name, your bio, your photos, your videos, your clips, the labels and notes you write, and the names you give teams, meets and practice sessions.

DiveScores has zero tolerance for objectionable content and for abusive users. There is no warning step for the behavior below. We remove the content, and we ban the account.

Never post, send or upload any of this:

• Harassment and bullying: content that targets, mocks, shames or pesters another person.
• Hate: attacks on a person or a group because of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation.
• Sexual content: nudity, sexual acts and sexual talk. DiveScores reports any content that sexually exploits a minor to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to law enforcement.
• Threats and violence: threats to hurt somebody, and content that celebrates violence.
• Promotion of self-harm: content that encourages suicide, self-injury or disordered eating.
• Impersonation: pretending to be another person, a team or an organization.
• Other people's private information: a home address, a phone number, an email address or anything else private, posted without permission.
• Spam and scams: repeated unwanted content, fake accounts, and attempts to trick people out of money or data.
• Illegal content: anything that breaks the law, and anything that helps somebody else break the law.

Do not try to reach another person's account, and do not collect other people's data from DiveScores without permission.

DiveScores also checks free text when you save it. Text with objectionable language is refused, so it never reaches another person.

Reporting and blocking

Report anything

Anyone can report content. Every place where one person's content reaches another carries a report control: profiles, practice videos, clips, uploads, teams, organizations, meets, broadcast cameras and recruiting notes. Open the menu on the item, choose Report, pick a reason, and add details if you want to.

Block anyone

You can block another user from any of those surfaces: choose Report and tick “Also block”, before you send it or on the confirmation afterwards. A block hides that user's content from you at once. Their profile, their videos, their clips, their uploads and their notes leave your feed, your search results and your lists.

A block also stops that user writing toward you. They cannot follow you, tag you, add you to a team, write on your recruiting board or edit your profile. You can see and undo your blocks at any time in your account settings.

DiveScores is told about every report and every block. Official competition results stay visible to everyone, including a person you block, because they are the meet's public record.

Moderation and enforcement

DiveScores reviews every report within 24 hours.

After a review, we can:

• Remove the content.
• Hide the content from everybody but its owner.
• Suspend the account.
• Ban the account permanently.

One serious violation is enough for a permanent ban. A suspended or banned account is signed out at once and cannot sign in again.

Appeals

If you believe we got it wrong, write to support@divescores.com. Name your account and the content we acted on. A person reads every appeal.

support@divescores.com is the safety contact for DiveScores. Use it for content, conduct, reports, blocks and enforcement. Use privacy@divescores.com for privacy requests.

Scores, results and public information

When you take part in diving events on DiveScores, some information is public:

• Your name and your profile information
• Your diving scores and competition results
• Team affiliations and meet participation
• Performance statistics and rankings

Athletic performance data, meaning scores, rankings and meet results, is public information and cannot be made private. This matches how diving results have always been posted and kept.

Live streaming

A meet on DiveScores can be live streamed to YouTube and listed on the DiveScores account. If you take part in a meet that is live streamed:

• You consent to being recorded and broadcast.
• The video may be public on YouTube.
• The recording may stay available after the meet ends, under YouTube's policies.

Write to privacy@divescores.com about a live stream that shows something you want taken down. Write to support@divescores.com to report objectionable content in a stream.

Payment

DiveScores is free for everyone today. We may add paid features later. If we do:

• We give notice of any fee before it starts.
• Stripe processes the payments.
• High school teams keep the core features at no cost.

Intellectual property

Our rights

DiveScores, and its trademarks, logos and service marks, belong to DiveScores. Do not use our branding without written permission.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. By posting it, you give DiveScores a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display and distribute that content, as far as we need it to run the service.

Account deletion and data retention

You can delete your account at any time. When you do:

• Your personal data leaves our active systems straight away.
• Data may stay in backups for up to 30 days before it is deleted for good.
• Meet results and scores may be kept as part of the competition record. We anonymize or aggregate them where we can.
• We may keep some data if the law requires it, or to settle a dispute.

Third-party services

DiveScores works with these services:

• Google and Apple: secure sign-in
• Google Analytics: understanding how DiveScores is used
• YouTube: live streaming meets
• Stripe: payment processing, when it applies

Each of them has its own terms and its own privacy policy. We are not responsible for what a third-party service does.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is”

DiveScores is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We make no warranty, stated or implied, about how reliable, accurate or available the service is.

Scoring accuracy

We work hard to get score calculations and meet management right. Even so, we are not responsible for data entry errors, scoring disputes or differences between records. Meet directors and officials determine the official results, not DiveScores.

Limitation of liability

To the largest extent the law permits, DiveScores and the people who operate it are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages that come from your use of the service.

Changes to these terms

The current terms always live at divescores.com/terms. That page is the version that applies to you.

We may update these terms. When a change is material, we tell you: a notice in the app, an email, or both. If you keep using DiveScores after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

The laws of the United States govern these terms. A dispute is settled in a court of competent jurisdiction.
